Lauren Vilaca BSC KIN
My name is Lauren Vilaca and I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. From a young age health and fitness were a prominent part of my life. From dance, to soccer, to rugby, and everything in between; I was always eager to try new things and push myself to become better and stronger. The past 9 years in the gym showed me all of the amazing things my mind and body are capable of achieving and I have learned the importance of consistency, patience, and resilience. I continued to pursue a career in the health and wellness industry, becoming a certified personal trainer. Not only do I hope to shed my knowledge and passion onto others while being a source of support and encouragement through their journey in reaching their health, lifestyle, and fitness goals, I want to help people discover how physical activity can positively impact all aspects of their lives!
Magdalena Helbin BSC KIN MSC KIN (in progress)
My name is Magdalena Helbin, but you can call me Maggie!
I aspire to optimize patients’ quality of life through optimal movement and an active lifestyle.
Sport has always been an integral part of my life, as I grew up competing in national level gymnastics. This is where I learned that sport taught many life lessons such as hard work, persistence and resilience to achieve a desired goal.
This passion quickly evolved and inspired me to learn more about the science of movement and to help others achieve their health goals through physical activity. After completion of my Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University and a Certification in Personal Training, I learned that physical activity is a vital component in not only achieving fitness goals but also in improving overall wellbeing, and preventing and treating disease and injury. I am very driven to learn, and I am currently on my way in pursuing a Master’s degree in Integrated Biosciences in Kinesiology at Western University, completing a research project on exercise adherence.

Our Clinic Manager & Admin Assistant
GEMINI CLINIC MANAGER
Tara was born and raised in Richmond Hill. She was always a good student, and always stayed very active in activities such as horseback riding, skating, dance, soccer, and basketball. She chose to focus her skills on the court and she was recruited to play for York University Varsity Basketball team.. Here, she was an OUA All Star and named the York University Rookie of the Year. She finished her degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences with her now husband Alex Gurba.
She always had a love for animals, which led her to take another path to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She worked as an RVT for 5 years. In August 2017, Tara gave birth to two beautiful and healthy miracle twin babies, and is a very proud (and busy) mom.
Tara enjoys running with her double stroller, baking healthy treats, and going to the park with her family. She has always had a passion for health and fitness, and when Alex decided he wanted to open a multidisciplinary clinic, she knew she wanted to help create something special for her family.
Melissa has been a long-time resident of Aurora. After being home for many years with my two sons, I made the decision in 2016 to head back to the classroom and gained a diploma in Medical Office Administration at Georgian College.
Family is everything to me and in my spare time you will find me with my husband, two sons, and dog enjoying the outdoors, especially in the summer: whether it is up north at the cottage or discovering more of Ontario in our trailer. I love to chat and get to know our clients here in the clinic and look forward to meeting you.
